Contemporary Life Support Association organized a ceremony at ÇYDD Headquarters to commemorate those who lost their lives on the anniversary of the earthquake disaster that occurred on February 6 and caused great destruction in 11 provinces.

Cagdas Yasamı Destekleme Dernegi organized a ceremony at ÇYDD Headquarters to commemorate
those who lost their lives and raise awareness about the measures to be taken on the anniversary of
the earthquake disaster that occurred on February 6 and caused great destruction in 11 provinces.
Speaking after the commemoration ceremony, ÇYDD Chairman Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yüksel: "Our pain is
great. As ÇYDD; "We commemorate our employees, volunteers and Board members at our
Headquarters, as well as the members of our association and all our losses, with sadness but with
respect, with the promise that we will never forget," she said.
Çagdaş Yasamı Destekleme Dernegi organized a commemoration ceremony to commemorate our
citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş, to call on the
authorities to take the necessary precautions to prevent similar pain from happening again, and to
raise awareness about earthquakes. ÇYDD President Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yüksel ,ÇYDD Board members,
volunteers and Headquarters employees attended the ceremony at ÇYDD Headquarters.The
ceremony started with a moment of silence for the citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake.
Then, the names of ÇYDD scholarship students and ÇYDD members who lost their lives under the
rubble were read.
​In the statement made on ÇYDD social media accounts, "On the anniversary of the earthquake
disaster that occurred in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023 and caused the death of more than 50
thousand people in 11 provinces, we held a commemoration ceremony at our Headquarters with the
participation of Prof.Dr.Ayşe Yüksel, our Board members and employees. We would like to
emphasize once again on this painful day that; It is not earthquakes that kill, but negligence and
imprudence. These and similar painful events we experience remind us that we must constantly take
precautions for a safer and more prepared future. "We commemorate those who lost their lives with
respect and mercy, and we call on everyone to be more conscious and prepared to prevent similar
disasters in the future."
Speaking after the ceremony, ÇYDD President Ayşe Yüksel stated that they were in great sadness and
said, "Today is February 6th. Last year, on February 6th, we all woke up to great pain. There was a
major earthquake that centered in Kahramanmaraş and affected 11 provinces. There were many
casualties. During the earthquake, 11 students, our young children, who went to the region for the
semester break and whose scholarship was supported by Çağdaş Yaşamı destekleme Derneği, were
buried under the rubble and lost their lives. Again, two of our valuable members were trapped under
the rubble. Thousands of people passed away along with them. None of them fell asleep to die. Our
pain is great. As ÇYDD; We commemorate our employees, volunteers and Board members at our
Headquarters, as well as the members of our association and all our losses, with sadness but with
respect, with the promise that we will never forget. "May their souls rest in peace," she said.
