ÇYDD organized a special event titled Contemporary Girls of Contemporary Turkey.
ÇYDD, which continues its work to ensure opportunity and gender equality in education, is happy to realize Türkan Saylan's dream of providing scholarships to 100 thousand female students on the 100th anniversary of our Republic. A special program titled Contemporary Girls of Contemporary Turkey was organized in order to keep the memory of Türkan Saylan alive and to give hope to the society by sharing girls' journeys to success.
The program started with a ceremony held at Pro. Dr.Türkan Saylan's grave in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery. Female students who were ÇYDD scholars paid tribute to Türkan Saylan and left flowers on her grave after giving a speech.
After the commemoration ceremony, the program continued at İş Sanat Cultural Center in Levent. The program was hosted by Journalist Özlem Gürses; ÇYDD's graduates and scholarship students, ÇYDD Headquarters and Branch Board Members, ÇYDD volunteers and donors of girls' education projects attended.
The opening speech of the program, which reflects the success of ÇYDD's years of work with the projects it has developed to ensure gender and equality of opportunity in education, was made by ÇYDD President Prof. Dr. It was performed by Ayşe Yüksel. Afterwards, sessions were held where former ÇYDD scholarship students, who completed their education and became teachers, healthcare professionals, artists, managers, journalists, social scientists, lawyers, academicians, scientists and engineers, told their success stories. In the last part of the program, Journalist Writer Ayşe Kulin, Journalist Writer Demet Cengiz and Communications Manager Sibel Asna participated as speakers; A panel titled "Türkan Saylan's Daughters, Contemporary Turkey's Future Assurance" was held, where opinions on ensuring equal opportunities in education were shared.
The program ended with all participants singing the 100th Anniversary Anthem and taking a group photo.
