DO NOT TOUCH MUNICIPALITY NURSERY CENTERS AND CHILD ACTIVITY CENTERS!
In the letter sent to the municipalities by the Ministry of National Education, it was shared with the public that “preventing the opening of preschool education institutions” was requested on the grounds that it had no legal basis.
Preschool education is a right for our children according to the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey; and it is a duty for public institutions to open and spread preschool education institutions.
According to the provisions of Articles 2 and 42 of the Constitution, it is the duty and responsibility of the Ministry of National Education to spread preschool education institutions and offer them to the public service free of charge in the Republic of Turkey, which is a social state. Due to the insufficient number of preschool education institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education and public, private preschool education institutions, namely paid education, are the option, which prevents the right of children from low and middle-income families to preschool education. At this point, the nurseries opened by municipalities are a very important service for children to access their right to preschool education. In addition, municipalities provide secular and scientific education services in preschool education institutions in the light of Atatürk's principles and revolutions; thus, our children are also protected against the threat of religious orders and congregations in municipal nurseries.
The participation of women in business life and social life is also supported by having access to accessible nurseries for their children through the nurseries opened by municipalities
We congratulate all our municipalities that fulfill the requirements of being a social state and produce services for the benefit of the public and the public and open nurseries. We also remind the Minister of National Education that he should start the inspection and supervision obligation given by the law with the "schools" opened by religious orders and congregations.
