ÇYDD started a new scholaship program “Tarık Akan Fine Arts Scholarship” in memory of Tarık Akan. We thank Tarik Akan friends who have donated to ÇYDD in compliance with his family’s request instead of sending flowers to his funeral

Dear Üregül family,

We are deeply hurt by the early loss of our beloved Tarık Akan.

Tarık Akan, courageous defender of democracy, human rights and the Atatürk Republic as well as a valuable artist, will never be forgotten!

Friends and fans of Tarık Akan have donated to our association instead of sending flowers to you on your day of sorrow.

With these donations, our association decided to start a “Tarık Akan Fine Arts Scholarship” program in his memory and to help educate new Tarık Akans. The program will start in the second term of the 2016-2017 school year and scholarships will be given to 10 gifted Fine Arts High School students in financial need.
