He was born in 1954 in Izmir, Torbalı. He attended primary and secondary school in Torbalı and graduated from Gökçeada Primary Teachers' School in 1972. In the same year, he started teaching in Samsun Çarşamba.
He became a member of TÖB-DER. He assumed the presidency of TÖMETKO (Torbalı Teachers Consumption Cooperative) in 1985 after the teacher organization ended with a coup in 1980. He distributed ABC, the magazine of Eğit-Der, in Torbalı, Bayındır, and Selçuk districts. In 1990, he became the Torbalı representative of Eğitim-İş, the first civil servant union, and the branch chairman in the process. He was the branch chairman of the union, which changed its title to Eğitim-Sen in 1995, until his retirement in 1998. He was the manager of Torbalı Public Building Cooperative between 1995-2001.
He participated in the establishment of the ÇYDD Torbalı Branch in 1997, but could not be a founder due to the fact that working teachers could not be founders. He became the “No.1 member” of the Torbalı Branch. Between 1998 and 2019, he worked as the head of the youth unit and a member of the scholarship commission since the year of the branch. He served as the vice president of the branch for three years and the branch president for thirteen years. He organized a children's club and a summer school for thirteen years in the branch.
He was elected as an alternate member of the Board of Directors at the 2019 general assembly.
With the assignments made, he became responsible for Contemporary Youth and Education Units.
He took responsibility for the Starfish and There is a Festival in the Village projects.
He is the leader of the project from High School to University within the education unit.
He is a member of the Local Seed Association and the Turkish Beekeepers Association. He is married and has two children.
